Sounds
If you have RealAudio, you can hear famous Jets sounds from the past...
Listen to Teemu Selanne scoring his 50th goal, or breaking Mike Bossy's rookie goal scoring record, or even breaking the All-Time rookie points record,
by assisting on Alexei Zhamnov's goal against Toronto. You are even able to hear the late Ken "the Fryer" Nicholson comment on the Jets first ever game back in 1972, or when Bobby Hull scored his 50th goal in his 50th game in '73,
or when he broke Phil Esposito's goal scoring record by notching his 77th goal of the season in 1975.
We also can't forget the 1980's when the Jets knocked off the Flames to advance to the next round of the playoffs after their best regular season ever in 1985, and in 1987, when Gilles Hamel scored on a breakaway
goal in the playoffs to help the team secure a 3-1 series lead against the Flames. Then in 1990, no Jets fan could ever forget Dave Ellett's
double overtime game winning goal to give the Jets the win versus Edmonton at the Winnipeg Arena. Also from that same series, you can listen
to Dale Hawerchuk's game winning goal against Edmonton in Game 3 of the 1990 series.
And finally, there are sound files from the last few moments
in Winnipeg Jets history. Memories such as Keith
Tkachuk's 50th goal into an empty net versus Los Angeles to
secure the Jets a spot in the playoffs in 1996, as well as Game
6 of the 1996 playoffs when Norm
MacIver scored the last ever Jets goal. And finally, you can
hear Don Wittman
describing the last few moments of the last ever Jets game,
Game 6 at the Winnipeg Arena.
All of these sounds, plus a few more, can be found at Jeff Dooley's Homepage. Be sure to check that out...
