...More Memories
Below are some favorite memories submitted from fans across the world...

"I really do not have one favorite player, I enjoyed watching you
all on Television, and at the Winnipeg arena. It truley breaks my
heart to know that my own home town would let their Hockey Team
go just like that...Well who ever you all end up playing for I wish
you luck...The Winnipeg Jets will always live in my heart..... Thanks
for all the great games!"- C.C.
"Two of my favorite memories would be in the 1996 Playoffs when
the underdog Jets who no one thought would win any games beat the
Detroit Red Wings to bring the last Winnipeg Jets game back to Winnipeg." - L.V.
"Is there any dought that the most celebrated goal in Winnipeg Jet
history was scored by Dave Ellet. It was game 4 early in the second
overtime frame when Thomas Steen was hooked down on a partial break
and our beloved Jets were awarded a power play. On the ensuing face
off Thomas scooped the puck to Ellet who blasted it past Ranford
for the win and arguably the greatest moment in Jet history Don't
worry we won't even discuss what happened after that... LONG LIVE
THE JETS!"-J.W.(from Toronto but never a Leafs fan)
"My favorite Jets memory would have to be the farewell to the Jets
ceremony before the entire Save Our Jets campaign. Emotions were
running high as Don Cherry told us what a great hockey town we are.
Then when Kris King said that when they win the Stanley Cup...It's
coming back to Winnipeg. The retiring of Steens number the retiring
of the symbol they're all great memories. Then as the ceremony ended
the players all went for one last skate around the arena while Garth
Brook's The Dance played. Winnipeg could have missed the pain but
we'd have had to miss the Dance... Winnipeg will never be the same."-
R.B.
"My favorite time was 3 years ago when I saw the Jets kick
Chicago's but. I was the Jets greatest fan and I will never forget
the look on the teams face when they played their last game. The
spirit of the Jets will live forever."- M.A.
"It was truly a sad day when the Jets pulled up stakes and left
the "peg". I have to wonder how long it will take the other "small
market teams" to leave Canada and head south of the 49th. I hope
the new Moose can attract fans to the arena and provide a viable
option to the defunct Jets. Hockey has a long standing tradition
in Winnipeg and hopefully will for years to come." - Missing the
Jets from Inuvik, NWT
