Welcome
Welcome to the original Winnipeg Jets Tribute
Site! This website was originally formed in August of 1996 and has taken
on many different appearances during its existence. The layout that you presently see
was initially launched in August of 1999 and due to its popularity, it has remained ever since.
On this website, you will still be able
to find all of the old information that was available previously,
along with a few newer items such as some Jets Trivia Quiz Java
applets and some other multimedia items.
In addition, some new Jets-related links have been added to the
links section. These probably won't be updated on a very regular
basis but if I come across something that should be there, I'll
add it in.
Site
Purpose
The main purpose of this site is for it to serve as a tribute
to the Winnipeg Jets Hockey Club, a team that has been a part
of the community in Manitoba from 1972 to 1996. The Winnipeg Jets
were very involved in the community here... an example is The
Goals For Kids Foundation which raised money for less fortunate
children. One of the many fond memories I have about the club's
fundraising is of the Jet's Wives Carnival, a carnival held every
year in February, where players would be on hand to sign autographs
and pose for photographs in order to raise money for the Goals
For Kids Foundation.... While the Jets will be sorely missed,
I would still like to take the time to welcome Manitoba's new
professional team, the Manitoba Moose.
Check out the interactive section of the site featuring new multimedia
items such as the Jets Trivia Quiz applet. Also, be sure to listen
to Real Audio sound files of famous Winnipeg Jets moments in the
sounds section, such as Teemu Selanne's record breaking goal,
the last ever Jets goal and even from the first ever Jets game!
For a complete list of these sounds, you should also check out
Jeff Dooley's Site!
